A TrainHeroic alternative when you have a staff, not just a roster
TrainHeroic prices by how many athletes you carry, which is reasonable. Then it charges $9.99 a month for every assistant coach on top, which is the line people do not budget for — and the one that scales with the wrong thing. A head coach with three assistants is paying for four seats to manage one team.

A note on what is missing, corrected 26 August 2026. An earlier version of this page said TrainHeroic's tier prices were hidden behind an interactive selector. That was too generous. Inspected directly, the only dollar figure anywhere in the page is the $9.99 assistant coach fee — the eleven tier labels carry no prices at all, and there is no selector, slider or dropdown to reveal them. So the position is not that the numbers are awkward to extract. It is that TrainHeroic publishes a list of tiers and no prices to go with them, which is why no comparison article you will find lists them either. Ask for the tier sheet in writing before you commit.
The staff bill nobody prices in
Per-seat pricing for coaches is the quiet cost in this category. It is charged monthly, it is charged per person, and it grows when your program grows in the one direction that does not add athletes. A head coach plus three assistants is $29.97 a month in assistant seats alone — $359.64 a year — before a single athlete is counted.
That figure is more than EatSleepRep's entire Squad plan, which is $249 a year for the coach, the assistants and up to thirty athletes together.

Where TrainHeroic is the better buy
Two cases, and they are real ones. If you coach a handful of remote clients rather than a team, its lowest tiers start genuinely small and you will not pay for capacity you are not using. And if you want to sell programming, TrainHeroic runs a marketplace where coaches publish paid programs — that is a business model, not a feature, and EatSleepRep has nothing like it.
If you are a school coach with a fixed roster, a staff, and a budget that is set once a year, per-seat monthly billing is working against you on all three.
What to check before you sign
- Count your seats, not your athletes. Every assistant, every volunteer, every grad assistant who needs to see the board.
- Price the tier above the one you need. Bands step at 25, 35, 50 and 100; rosters cross those lines between seasons.
- Multiply by twelve. Monthly pricing reads small and is budgeted annually.

EatSleepRep is $249 a year for up to 30 athletes with assistant coaches included at no extra charge. For a staff of four that is less than the assistant seats alone would cost monthly.
If you coach a few remote clients rather than a team, its smallest tiers avoid paying for unused capacity. And if you want to sell programming, it runs a marketplace for that, which EatSleepRep does not.
